Work Experience: Julie Rivard began her position as the Deputy Commissioner of Tax Compliance with Loudoun County in April 2021. Her previous work experience includes 1 year as the Finance Director for the Town of Middleburg; 1 year as a Business Tax Auditor III with Fairfax County; 3 years as a Business Tax Auditor with Loudoun County, VA; 3 years as the Director with the Berkeley County Fire Board in Berkeley County, WV; 2 years with Penn National Gaming serving as the Internal Auditor for their largest property; 1.5 years with Jefferson County, WV managing Federal and state grants and large community driven projects; and 4 years with accounting firm KPMG LLP. Julia has worked to build the state deduction tax methodology and had the opportunity to write multiple process documents during her time with Loudoun County. My husband was a Tax Auditor for the City of Falls Church for 30 years, so we can always have a healthy debate over tax issues. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends at our beach house in Corolla Light, on the OBX. I’ve travelled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East, and am a certified Scuba Diver and love the reefs of the Red Sea and Hawaii.
